"The Post House is a model example of 1930s Finnish functionalism and was one of the country's largest construction projects of its time. After its completion in 1938, it soon became a milestone in Finnish architecture. Architects Erik Lindroos, Jorma Järvi and Kaarlo Borg designed the building, and its interior was planned by famous interior designers of the time, such as Arttu Brummer, Runar Engblom, Birger Hahl and Paavo Tynell.
The Post House has been modernised on a number of occasions. It was expanded with extra storeys in the 1950s, and Helsinki's first helicopter pad was built on its roof for the 1952 Olympics. The latest refurbishments began at the end of 2001."
